House Rules
Advanced Start
Players Order of Battle Power Rating (or Supply Limit) starts at 100 Power Level rather than 50 Power Level.
The Bell of Lost Souls
Instead of moving in their Movement phase, any IMPERIUM CHARACTER can, at the end of their Movement phase, attempt to summon a DAMNED LEGIONNAIRE unit with this ability by performing an Imperial Prayer (the character cannot do so if they arrived as reinforcements this turn, or if they were themselves summoned to the battlefield this turn).
Roll up to 3 dice – this is your summoning roll. For each die you roll you must spend a command point. You can summon one new DAMNED LEGIONNAIRE unit with the Imperial Prayer ability to the battlefield that has a Power Rating equal to or less than the total result. This unit is treated as reinforcements for your army and can be placed anywhere on the battlefield that is wholly within 12" of the character and more than 9" from any enemy model. If the total rolled is insufficient to summon any unit, the prayer fails and no new unit is summoned.
Codex Reinforcements
If units within your Order of Battle receive a new codex during the course of the campaign you should "modernize" them within two turns (approximately 4 weeks) of your books release. All of these updates are "free" (i.e. do not cost requisition points).
All units must convert to their new power level and updated stats/abilities.
Units with 8th edition Warlord Traits or Relics must exchange them for a new Warlord Trait and Relic from the most recent codex (they don't have to pick a different one if their trait/relic appears unchanged in an update).
Units may exchange up to two Battle Honours (e.g. Battle Traits, Psychic Fortitudes, Weapon Enhancements and Crusade Relics). They may exchange these for new Battle Honours from the main rulebook or their updated codex.
Developer's Note: The role or stats of units may drastically change from codex to codex - the exchanging two battle honors attempts to let players replace no longer relevant upgrades but still keep the same feel of the unit as before the codex update.
Down to the Wire
Add the following text to each Narrative Mission in the Mission Objectives section for all Progressive Objectives that are scored at the end of the Command Phase. In the fifth battle round, the player who has the second turn does not score victory points for this objective at the end of their Command phase; instead, at they score the end of their turn.
Hidden Cost of Daemon Worship
When using the Daemon Ritual ability, controlling players must spend one Command Point per die used in the summoning ability. I.E. if a player wishes to summon a unit of Daemons with two dice, they would pay two command points in order to attempt the summoning roll - if the summoning roll fails they still lose the spent Command Points.
The Increase Supply Limit Requisition increases your Supply Limit by 10 Power instead of the original 5 Power.
Nomads
If you lose your last system - defined as your home system - your army will then become Nomads until you successfully win an attack on a system (either over another player of a colonization). The following rules apply to you when you lack a home system.
Your army treats all hexes adjacent to the Great Rift (where the hazard markers are) as being adjacent.
You may only issue Attack or Intensive Training orders.
This represents your army and supporting infrastructure fleeing into warp space to avoid complete destruction.
A New Way to See Paint
Remove the following text from section #16 of the CRUSADE MISSION PACK and #17 of the PLANETSTRIKE MISSION PACK:
In addition, if every model in a player’s army was painted to a Battle Ready standard, that player is awarded a bonus 10 victory points. This gives the player a maximum total score out of 100 victory points.
Add the following text to section #17, subsection #2 Update Experience Points of the CRUSADE MISSION PACK and section #18, subsection #2 of the PLANETSTRIKE MISSION PACK:
Paint for the Paint Gods: Each unit that was part of your army list for this battle and was painted to a battle ready standard gains 1 experience point.
No Sniper Firestorms
When playing PLANETSTRIKE missions, add the following paragraph at the end of the FIRESTORM section.
Instead of suffering D3+3 Mortal Wounds if within 3" of a Firestorm marker CHARACTER units with 9 or less wounds instead suffer D3 wounds. CHARACTER units with 9 or less wounds only 1 mortal wound if within 4-6" of a Firestorm marker instead of D3 wounds.
Developer's Note: This should reduce the ability of a firestorm to "snipe" characters which doesn't make much logical sense.
